Hey guys, I have a job that I want to run and I am having a hard time coming up with the best way to go about it. I have a 102 with a lever action cross slide on front and back. The parts are a couple variations, but the same type. They are 1/4" and 5/16" OD round bar that get 3 holes drilled and tapped each. Two are in the same plane with the 3rd center one 90 degrees from the other two. The shortest part is 3/8" long and the longest is 1" long. All 3 holes are the same thread and through the part.
I think I'd like to use the Schaublin to do the parts and if I could drill and tap while in the machine that would be great, then part off last. The lathe has the indexing plate in the head stock, so I can hold it in position.
Have any of you made anything like this to cross drill?
These are old pics, but this is the cross slide I have.
Thanks,
Jason
