Hello all. New to this forum and lathes in general.

I recently got my hands on a Weiler LZ 280 and have started to pick it apart to freshen it up. I have done extensive searching on the model trying to find operation manual and service manual without any luck. But i see there has been some mention of members here who have had it and shared so im crossing my fingers hoping someone is willing to share :)

I have tried to identify my unit but it does not say anywhere on it, but i belive it is a vario, and a previous ovner has repainted the tray red, but im scraping it off and going back to the orginal color.

Anyway, here is some pictures of the lathe:

Im concidering removing the top off the tray/table to better repaint it. Will that affect the bed in a negative way. Or is it ridgid enough that its okay to do so?
