DRO on Emco Super 11 without removing the mill column?

Hi folks,

Has anybody mounted a DRO on a Super 11 front-side without removing the mill column? (or back side for that matter but there's not much space). If so, I'd love to know how it worked out.

I saw blog from a guy with a V10 who did it. It's not that I will use it a lot but its totally useless if i take it off.
