The anticipation of getting this machine set up and running is killing me. Literally. Week after next I'm scheduled for my 2nd herniated disk surgery this year. With the operation already planned I figure what's the worst that can happen?
Well for one thing knocking down masonry walls proceeds at a whole different pace. A 10 year old girl would be faster. I had wanted to have this thing hooked up and driven off the z-axis blocking before I checked in to the hospital. Now its going to have to wait until post recovery.
Anyway here are some pictures of how we got the machine through a door with ~1" vertical clearance, and of how the machine sits now. :(

I just need to finish breaking out these two walls. Then I can move the Schaublin into the big room, and will have increased the size of the workshop by the floor area of the ex-garage and utility room. The 5Kg hammer is bustin' my ass.

I am very keen to learn more about the Fanuc Series 20 control. Especially integration of probing and mist-lube. I seem to have read that there is a version of the Series 20 control that allows for cascading of the servo amps to add additional axes???
Anybody else with a Series-20F control? (Other than Don with his Makino).
The Schaublin 28 cat is out of the bag. But a long way from making parts.
